YELLOW BELT HANDBOOK INFORMATION

Meaning of the Yellow Belt - Yellow signifies the earth, from which the plant sprouts and takes root as the Taekwondo foundation is being laid.


As a Yellow Belt, you will learn three patterns
1. Dan Gun
2. Do San
3. Young Juk (Movements 21-40)

YELLOW BELT ONE-STEPS (1-2 stripes)

1. Ready parallel position: step with the left foot back to a back stance, double guarding blocks. Perform a right pickup sidekick, landing in a right back stance, and execute a right inward block with the outer forearm, right knife hand strike combination (neck level). Shift the right foot to a right front stance and execute a right palm strike at the face level. Step the right foot back to the left in a closed stance, double guarding blocks. Step back with the left foot to a right back stance, double guarding blocks. Step the left foot to ready position.

2.Ready parallel position: step forward with the right foot to a right middle stance, and perform a right downward palm block, and right back fist combination at head level. Perform a right pickup round kick, belt level, landing in a right front stance and execute a left face level palm strike. Step back with the right foot to a left back stance, double guarding blocks. Return the right foot to the ready position.

3. Ready parallel position: step forward with the left foot to a left back stance, double knife hand guarding blocks. Shift the left foot to a left front stance and execute a left outward block with the outer forearm, followed by a right inward block with the outer forearm, followed by a left and right punch at face level. Step back with the left foot to a closed stance, and then step back with the right foot to a left back stance, double guarding blocks. Return the right foot to the ready position.

4. Ready parallel position: step back with the left foot to a right back stance, double guarding blocks. Perform a step together right hook kick, landing in a back stance, while immediately perform a right single knife hand strike. Shift the right foot to a right front stance and perform a triple punch (left, right, and left) at face level. Step back with the right foot to a left back stance double guarding blocks. Return the right foot to the ready position.

**Hop change and repeat the same one-steps on the opposite side.


YELLOW BELT ONE STEPS (3-4 stripes)

1. Ready parallel position: step back with the right foot to a left middle stance, double guarding blocks. Perform a step together left double round kick, stepping down with the left foot to a parallel stance, with your back to your opponent. Perform a right spin sidekick, stepping down to a right back stance, and right single knife hand strike to the neck level. Step the right foot to the left foot in a closed stance. Step the left foot back to a right middle stance, double guarding blocks. Return the left foot to the ready position.

2. Ready parallel position: step forward with the left foot to a left back stance and perform a left inward block with the outer forearm. Perform a left pickup hook kick to the mid section, and then a single knife hand strike to the neck level in a left back stance. Hop change and immediately perform a right pickup round kick to the mid section, shift the right foot to a right front stance and perform a reverse left punch to the face level. Step the right foot back to the left foot, and then step away with left foot to a left back stance, double guarding blocks. Return the left foot back to the ready position.

3. Ready parallel position: step forward with the right foot and perform a right inward block with the outer forearm, in a right back stance. Perform a right pickup side kick, round kick combination. Step the right foot to a parallel stance, with your back to your opponent, and perform a left spin heel kick (270 degrees), landing in a right back stance, double guarding blocks. Step the left foot back to the ready position.

4. Make up your own one step (use your imagination)
