GREEN BELT HANDBOOK INFORMATION

Green Belt signifies the plant’s growth as Taekwondo skills are developing.

At the Green Belt level you will learn three new patterns:
1. Won Hyo
2. Yul Gok
3. Young Juk Chool Bal (Movements 41-60)

ONE STEPS: At Green Belt you will also be required to complete set of one steps for both low and high green belt ranks. These green belt one steps are described on the next page of your student handbook.

GREEN BELT ONE-STEP SPARRING COMBINATIONS (1-2 stripe)

1. Step forward to a left angle out and form a left front stance, while simultaneously making a right outward outer forearm block. Twist right to a middle stance and execute a left punch to the ribs. Twist left to a left front stance and execute a right ridge hand strike to an open area. Execute a right outward crescent kick to the head, lower the right foot wide angle out and execute left round kick. Lower the left foot to form a parallel stance with your back to your opponent, and execute a right spin heel crescent kick. Lower the right foot to form a left L stance, double guarding blocks.

2. Execute a right inward crescent block, then without lowering the kicking leg, execute a right side kick. Lower the foot to a front stance and execute a left and a right punch to the face. Step right foot to a wide angle out and execute a left turning hook kick. Lower the kicking foot to form a parallel stance, back to your opponent, execute a right jump spin heel kick. Land in a left L stance, double guarding blocks.

3. Step forward to a right angle out, forming a right front stance, while simultaneously gripping the opponent’s right arm with a left hooking block. Execute a left round kick to the solar plexis. Lower the left foot to form a left front stance and execute a right punch to the face. Twist right to form a left front stance and a left ridge hand strike. Step left to right to form a parallel stance, back to your opponent. Execute a right spin side kick. Lower the right foot to the left foot, step away, double guarding blocks.

4. Step forward to a right L stance, while making a right inward outer forearm block. Shift the right foot to form a right front stance and execute a left palm heel strike to the face, a right upset punch to the spleen area, left ridge hand to the face. Execute a right round kick and lower the right foot to form a parallel stance, back to your opponent and execute a left spin heel kick. Lower the left foot to form a right L stance, double guarding blocks.


GREEN BELT ONE-STEP SPARRING COMBINATIONS (3-4 stripe)

1. Jump back to form a left L stance, double guarding blocks. Execute a left skipping front kick, land in a left L stance and execute a left outward outer forearm block. Shift the left foot to a left front stance and execute a right punch to the face. Step with the left foot to the right foot to a parallel stance, back to your opponent. Execute a right spin side kick. Lower the right foot to the left foot and double guarding blocks, step away.

2. Step forward to a left front stance, while making a left outward block with the outer forearm. Execute a right and left horizontal spear thrust to the opponent’s eyes. Execute a left pick up side kick, lower the left foot to form a left parallel stance, back to your opponent. Execute a right spin heel kick, left L stance double guarding blocks.

3. Execute a left forward turning side kick, and lower the left foot to a parallel stance, back to your opponent. Execute a right spin side kick, lower the right foot to a right front stance, and execute a left and right punch to the face. Step right foot to a right angle out and execute a left round kick. Lower the left foot to form a middle stance, while executing a left knife hand strike to the neck. Step behind and away, double guarding blocks.

4. Step forward to a right L stance and execute a right high rising block. Execute a right knife hand strike to the ribs, followed by a right side kick to the ribs. Lower the right foot to form a middle stance, facing your opponent and execute a left front kick to the solar plexus. Lower the left foot angle out to form a middle stance, while executing a right and left punch to the ribs. Twist to a left front stance and execute a right ridge hand to your opponent’s solar plexus. Right foot swing away, double guarding blocks.
